Our Story
Sylvia Apostolidis launched The Jasmar Group to help companies frustrated with the slow pace of change in advancing workplace inclusion. Despite good intentions and effort, companies struggle to achieve widespread engagement and diverse representation levels.
How can companies make faster progress?
We realized that we can’t change behaviour unless we bring an understanding of how people actually behave to our solutions. This led us to build a rigourous, evidence-based framework using insights from the behavioural sciences.

Sylvia Apostolidis
President
Sylvia founded The Jasmar Group in response to organizations frustrated with the glacial rate of change in
advancing workplace diversity and inclusion. Since 2005, she has been advising leading companies across Canada to build equitable workplaces, including ten years as a senior consultant with Catalyst Inc. Sylvia is a respected expert on diversity, inclusion and women’s leadership. She is an engaging speaker, facilitator, coach and strategic partner bringing her passion, expertise and business-focused approach to help companies on their inclusion journey.
Sylvia envisions a workplace that allows every person equal opportunity. She has a deep interest in gender equality, for girls and boys. The Jasmar Group’s name combines the names of her twin sons, Jason and Marco. It represents the promise of future generations and importance of engaging boys and men in gender equality.
Sylvia holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, a Master of Science (Sociology) from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia.
